Wreck-Tangle is the first of what will hopefully be a regular Psycho / Rockabilly night at the Redhouse in Sheffield. It's been far too long since we had an event of this kind here.
The
Redhouse itself is a small venue but that ain't no bad thing I reckon.
If in the bar / stage area you're up close with the band and never more
than a few feet from the stage. Despite getting pretty rammed the crowd
was sociable with a good atmosphere (apart from one dickhead that didn't
seem to know the difference between wrecking and fighting) with no
problems getting to the bar or through the crowd. There is also a good
sized comfy lounge and beer patio if you want to go chill out, chat,
smoke etc.
For £6 on the door we got four bands - Invasion of the Deadbeats; Jack O' Bones; Sin Kings; The Sons Of El Roacho - each with their own distinctive style and well worth the entry fee. My personal favourites on the night were Jack O' Bones with a great old school sound and Sin Kings, a hard rockin' tight three piece.
All in all we had a great night and I look forward to next time. Many thanks to the Redhouse and all involved in putting this together.
